Threads have led me down wonderful paths of knowledge:
To be gesture, return to the body, to repetition, and trance. Immersing myself in an intuitive knowledge that flows deep in the womb. Le the hands dance the wisdom of origin and union, connecting with the first thread that gave birth to the structure of life. Awakening the sense of touch and declaring my time and space sacred. Which, under prevailing capitalist conditions, I consider to be deeply revolutionary.
The act of embroidery—which is a back-and-forth movement—teaches us about processes of maturation and their cycles. And from the raw inner mystery, to listen to and value one’s own voice—intimate, rhythmic, ancient—a power brimming with certainties about the essence and the ineffable.
